Christian Izabayo Manzi– PRCC’s New Compassion Child
This year the Mission Committee decided to sponsor a child through Compassion International.  Many of you are aware of the work Compassion does and in fact are already supporting this ministry on your own.  Worldwide over 13,000 children are now in need of sponsorship so PRCC is “adopting” Christian Izabayo Manzi. He is four years old (cute as a button) and lives with his grandparents in aids infected Rwanda.  Typical houses are constructed of dirt floors, adobe walls and wood roofs and their diet consists of maize, beans and potatoes. Most adults in EAR Mugombwa are unemployed but some work as subsistence farmers and earn the equivalent of $29 per month. With our annual support of $456 Christian will be provided with Bible teaching, prayer groups, health screenings, indoor and outdoor games, vaccinations, hygiene and health education, debate clubs, music classes, retreats, community service opportunities, talent development, life skills training, educational assistance, mentoring programs, computer classes and career guidance. Please stop by the Mission Board in the Fellowship Hall to read more about him. If you are able to help with Christian’s support please mark your checks with “Compassion” in the memo line – and please remember to pray for him and his family.

***As always, if you wish to designate your offering to a different mission please mark the outside of the envelope and we will make sure your wishes are honored.

Bondage Breakers Outreach Ministries – Women’s Home
Last month we collected and sent $280 to aid the Bondage Breakers Outreach Ministries- Women’s Program.  They are very grateful for your ongoing prayers and support.  Note:  Pastor Jeff and residents from the BB Men’s House have volunteered to help cut wood for our upcoming BBQ!

Out of the Garden
Get ready – the hotdog hamburger dinner will be starting up again on October 4th.  We need your help because the proceeds go to support the OOTG program for Pearce Elementary School.  Also many thanks to the PRCC volunteers who pick up and deliver food to Pearce every week!

PRCC Good Samaritan Fund
We continue to find opportunities to bless others with the PRCC Good Samaritan Fund.  Please contact Pastor Bill if you know anyone needing emergency relief i.e., food, clothing, shelter, etc., and/or see someone from the Mission Committee if you wish to contribute to the fund.

Faith Youth Initiative – Back to School Outreach
We recently donated $1,000 to the FYI program to help defray some of the cost of school supplies.  Additionally we delivered multiple tubs of actual supplies as well as clothing to help with their ministry.  All donations are greatly appreciated and are already being used!

Fellowship Hall “Tubs”
It seems like the ministries we support are always in need of ongoing supplies.  Therefore, we will be keeping Tubs available in the Fellowship Hall for items for Bondage Breakers Ministries (socks, underwear, T-shirts, toiletries, etc.), FYI (school supplies), Greensboro Urban Ministry (peanut butter, oatmeal, and/or mixed fruit), and the Nursing Home (give a-ways). Please see Barbara for additional information if you are able to help.

Ongoing Clothing and Household Items Distribution
Please keep bringing clothing and household items for us to distribute to those in need. We support multiple outreach ministries (for men, women, and children) on a weekly basis. You would be amazed at how many items are donated and delivered each month! Please see Barbara (or Gina for Freedom House articles) if you have any items you wish to donate.

Meet Our New Missionaries – Jonathan and Garima Rider
This year the MC has chosen to provide annual support for the ministry of Jonathan and Garima Rider.  Originally from NC they are associated with many local churches that have supported their ministry for years.  They will be joining us for service and fellowship next week where they will share how they are bringing the Gospel of Jesus to the Hindu world.

Just One More Thing!!   Acting as the Hands and Feet of Christ

Each year the MC identifies a focus or theme for our efforts.  The MC has chosen “Acting as the Hands and Feet of Christ” for 2018-2019.   As we continue to reach out to in local, national, and international missions we are asking you to keep praying for the many ministries we support and that we remain sensitive to The Lord’s leading in the future.
